Rimac Concept One on the Track

The Rimac Concept One is truly a one-of-a-kind. With a combined power output of 1,088 horsepower and an unbelievable 2,802 lb-ft of torque the Rimac Concept One can jump from 0-60 in just 2.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 190 MPH. What makes this all so much more incredible, the Concept One is all electric.

The car is powered by four 92 kWh liquid-cooled batteries at each wheel and is estimated to go up to 373 miles on a single charge. Rimac only plans to produce about 88 of these all-electric supercars and each one will start at $980,000. So its not exactly made for the masses.

The company plans to take the Concept One to Nurburgring some time after production is completed but for now we will just have to see bits and pieces of the testing phase. Check it out.

Rimac Concept OneThere are cars that are luxurious, there supercars that are pretty much unaffordable for most people, and then there is the Rimac One, a concept car that is now entering productions in Croatia.

Let’s throw out a few quick stats here. The Rimac One pushes out 1,088 horsepower, and 1,180 pound-feet of torque. Oh, and it does 0-62 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 185 miles per hour. I know what you are thinking. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has 1,184 horsepower, 1,100 pound-feet of torque, and can do 0-62 in 2.46 seconds with a top speed of over 250 miles per hour. Oh but did we mention the Rimac One is ALL ELECTRIC?

That’s right the Rimac One features a 92kW liFeP04 (lithium-iron phosphate) battery and four liquid-cooled electric motors. Unlike the Bugatti which will get about 8 miles per gallon the Rimac One can hold a top speed of 185 miles per hour for 372 miles. Yea, that’s pretty nice.

The price on this car? As the old saying goes, if you have to ask you can’t afford it. But, we’ll tell you anyway. You can have on of the 88 production models for $980,000.

2013 Lincoln MKZ Reveal Gala

Lincoln is working on completely revamping the brand, and it really starts on the back of one of their most popular models, the Lincoln MKZ. The popular sedan has won the JD Power and Associates Dependability Award for the last three years in a row, in the luxury category and has easily been Lincoln’s best selling model in recent times as well.

This year Lincoln is throwing a whole lot more technology and luxury features and getting some even more luxurious upgrades for the 2013 model year. One of the “wow” features on the new MKZ is the retractable glass roof. Most of the roof structure is a glass top making the car feel more open and airy, and it slides back to open up quite a bit. It adds a bit more open air space than a moonroof but the openness and luxury feel make the glass roof worth any extra expense.

Lincoln Reveals the Newly Redesigned 2013 Lincoln MKZ

Last week at the 2013 New York International Auto Show, Lincoln debuted the newly redesigned 2013 Lincoln MKZ. This is the model that is going to kick off the entire Lincoln facelift. Over the course of the next few years we will be seeing overhauls of all the current Lincoln models, with the introduction of a few new models to build the brand in an attempt to regain the domestic luxury car market again.

Lincoln Reveals Retractable Glass Roof

Lincoln is stepping things up in recent months, with several new models in the works and all the current models getting major overhauls. One of the coolest new features Lincoln is introducing or, at least, hoping to take live, is a retractable glass roof. Plaza Lincoln Host Test Drive Event to Benefit United Way

Test drive events have been a relatively good way to kill two birds with one stone. In this case, Plaza Lincoln, located right here in Leesburg, FL, is hosting the event to help promote the Lincoln brand and show off two of their new models, but they will also be showing their support for the local United Way.

The event, which takes place on Thursday, March 22, 2012, will be held at the Plaza Lincoln dealership. Plaza Lincoln invites people to come on down and test drive the new Lincoln MKS and Lincoln MKT. For each test drive that takes place during this event Lincoln will be donating $20 to the United Way. Test drives will be taking place every hour from 2-6PM. Anyone who is interested in participating should register by calling the dealership at 352-787-1255. During the event Plaza Lincoln will provide all guests with food and refreshments.

For those that wish to stick around the dealership after the event, the showroom will be open and hosting a small gathering from 6-630PM. This small gathering will feature food and drinks for the guests as well, and will also give people an opportunity to see all the other Lincoln models or to get more information about the MKS or MKT  that they test drove earlier.

Two Lincoln Models Rank Highest in J.D. Power and Associates Vehicle Dependability Study

2012 Lincoln MKZYet again the Lincoln MKZ ranks highest in the annual J.D. Power and Associates Vehicle Dependability Study. The popular Lincoln sedan has be a consistent leader in the luxury class taking the top  award for the past 3 years.

This year, for the first time, the Lincoln MKZ is not the only Lincoln model to be highly ranked. The MKZ is joined by the MKX, Lincoln’s popular crossover SUV that is making waves, thanks to a beautiful redesign this year.

The two Lincoln models are joined by a few of their Ford counterparts including the Fusion, Explorer, Ranger and Taurus.

“It’s the customers who come out ahead,” said Bennie Fowler, Ford Group Vice President, Global Quality and New Model Launches. “The vehicles we are building today are more reliable than ever. Ford has made significant strides over the past few years to achieve world-class levels of long-term quality and desirability.”

According to J.D. Power and Associates, Ford models have performed very well in dependability during the past several years. Building vehicles with high levels of dependability is critical in shaping consumer perceptions, but such perceptions are also often based on historical experiences or anecdotes and may be out of line with the current reality. J.D. Power and Associates recommends that consumers gather as much information as they can on the latest models from a variety of sources to make an informed decision.

Lincoln Honors “Black Women in Music” at Grammys

A 2012 Lincoln MKZ premium two-row utility will soon chauffer around a Grammy nominee and music industry executive this year.  The motor company is the offical automotive sponsor of the ESSENCE Black Women in Music event.

Shawn Lollie, Lincoln manager of Multicultural Marking comments, “Lincoln is pleased to be the exclusive automotive sponsor of ESSENCE Black Women in Music event for the third year.  We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the magazine in honoring these talented women, and participate in events like these that speak to the Lincoln customers.”

Kelly Rowland, a former Destiny’s Child member, is a Grammy nominee for her song “Motivation” and a current judge on Britain’s The X Factor.  Music industry executive Sylvia Rhone has served as president of Universal Motown records and has worked with celebrities such as Stevie Wonder and Nelly.

The 2012 Lincoln MKZ vehicle will chauffer both Rowland and Rhone to this year’s Annual Grammy Awards ceremony.  Lollie says, “This is a great way for modern consumers, like African-American women, to engage with our vehicles in a fun, fresh and glamorous way.”
